Near Northside Partners Council (NNPC) is a community based organization incorporated as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) agency in 1996 after organizing as a volunteer group of residents and professionals in 1990 to address the lack of health services for children.  NNPC has expanded its outlook and now serves as an advocacy and community organizing council, focusing on increasing citizen participation, constructing and rehabilitating neighborhood housing, economic development with an emphasis on workforce development, and in providing services that help families be self sustaining.

“To enhance the quality of life of the community by increasing citizen involvement and empowerment through partnerships.”

VISION

NNPC envisions helping to build a community that “works” for its residents – especially its youth.  We are working to build a community where economic opportunities abound, social services are effectively provided to meet the needs of residents, and young adults can have confidence that they can own safe homes and raise families with economic security. Our ultimate goal is to foster effective neighborhood engagement – which we define as increased civic activity on behalf of improved quality of life in the Near Northside
